At her recent TED talk, Anne Hubert, Senior Vice President of Scratch, offers up her take on the question of attention: how we get it, how we hold it and how we use it to create what’s next.
“Viacom is a company built on the economy of attention,” Hubert said. “Our businesses live or die by attracting the attention of our audiences and lend it to our advertising and marketing partners.”
The attention of the Millennial generation is a colossal area of focus across industries and organizations – given this is the largest generational cohort in history. Millennials are currently one-third of the population and will be 50% of the workforce by 2020. They are influencing and changing society daily and everyone from programmers to marketers to sales teams are trying to master the science of capturing their attention in today’s overstimulated world. Check out the video above for Hubert’s TED talk, “The Question of Attention,” in its entirety.
